Mike Testa – MSPT, CSCS
Michael was raised in Rockaway, New Jersey. He earned a BA in Exercise Science from Fort Lewis College in Durango. Michael went on to receive a Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. He has over 17 years of physical therapy experience, specializing in manual therapy and functional movement. Michael is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), certified in Functional Dry Needling (FDN), and certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and Functional Movement Screen (FMS). Michael is also Titleist Performance Institute Certified (TPI) and is excited to help golfers return from injuries and improve their mobility and strength to improve their playing. He enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, golfing, mountain biking as well as singing and playing his guitar.
Amy Testa – MSPT
Owner, Physical Therapist
Amy was born and raised in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. She attended Furman University in Greenville, SC where she earned a BS in Psychology. She received her Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. Amy has advanced training in the areas of manual therapy techniques, functional movement and pediatrics. She has over 17 years of experience and specializes in treating the neck and headaches. Amy is certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). She enjoys a wide variety of outdoor activities as well as volleyball, traveling, and photography.
Jan Mohan – DPT
Physical Therapist, Pelvic Rehab Specialist
Jan, a native of Dexter, New Mexico, is a 2013 graduate from the University of New Mexico’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program where she finished in the top of her class. Jan began her career in medicine back in 2001 when she earned her associates degree in respiratory therapy from Eastern New Mexico, and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2005 from Fort Lewis College in Durango. Jan has taken a strong interest in orthopedics and pelvic floor rehabilitation where she treats many conditions including: postpartum recovery, pelvic pain, pelvic floor weakness, and incoordination dysfunctions. Through education and retraining, she is able to help patients regain bladder control, decrease pain, and improve quality of life. Jan is also certified in Functional Dry Needling (FDN) and the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). Jan and her husband Nathan live in Durango where they can take advantage of telemark skiing, trail running, backpacking, and whitewater rafting.
Mandy Mehler – DPT, OCS
Physical Therapist, Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist
Mandy received her undergraduate degree from Boise State University, and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Utah. She has been practicing physical therapy since 2008. Mandy’s focus is on sports medicine, biomechanics, and running and cycling analysis. She is also certified in Functional Dry Needling (FDN). She loves the opportunity to help her patients through individualized care that treats the source of pain and injury. Mandy enjoys snowboarding, swimming, cycling, mountain biking, running, triathlons, and strength training.
SueB Earl – MPT
SueB earned her Masters in Physical Therapy at Northern Arizona University in 1994, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Prior to becoming a physical therapist, SueB was employed as an outdoor educator, working for Colorado Outward Bound and other organizations. She has enhanced her Physical Therapy education extensively with orthopedic continuation education courses. She has certiications in Spinal Manipulation and Functional Dry Needling. (FDN). SueB specializes in treatment of the lower kinetic chain (foot/ankle to low back), although she treats a variety of diagnoses. In addition to her PT experience, she owns FootWork INC, where she designs custom foot orthotics. SueB enjoys the numerous outdoor activities that Durango provides as well as the desert and gardening. Her passion is swimming.
Physical Therapy Assistant
Victoria moved to Durango to enjoy the great outdoors and explore the surrounding mountains. “I am a California native and I have practiced physical therapy for 30 yrs. I am excited to bring those skills to Advantage Physical Therapy & Wellness and the community it serves.” Victoria enjoys working with all patient populations, especially post-operative patients. Victoria is certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). When not at work, you can find her out on the trail with he new pup Duke, or on her bike exploring the endless trail systems. She is happy to have landed here at Advantage in Durango, CO.
Lisa Weber – LMT, BCTMB
Lisa graduated from Bodyworks Massage Institute in Evansville, Indiana in June of 2005 and has been doing massage therapy full time since then. As a Board Certified Massage Therapist since 2007, Lisa’s focus is orthopedic and medical massage. Lisa moved to Durango in 2012 and spends her free time hiking mountain trails, gardening, and in the winter, snowshoeing.
Becca graduated from the Massage Therapy Institute of Colorado in 1992 with a certification in Integrative Massage Techniques. She continued her education there, studying Reflexology, Myofascial Manipulation, Cranial-Sacral, Meridial and Advanced Neuromuscular Therapy. She loves working with people and helping them with their injuries and overall wellness.
Renee is originally from Amory, Mississippi then relocated to Dallas Texas to attend college in the 80’s where she obtained an Associate Degree in Computer Information Systems. She moved to Durango in February 2017 with her husband and two younger sons. Renee enjoys hiking, rafting, swimming, photography and volunteering with Adaptive Sports/Special Olympics in her free time.
Kenji is originally from San Clemente, California. He moved here in 2008 to attend Fort Lewis College, where he earned his Bachelors in Exercise Physiology. Currently he is working towards becoming a Registered Nurse and will be completed in May 2018. Kenji loves outdoor activities such as skiing and biking, and playing with his dogs.
Official Greeter/Therapy Dog
Tilly was born December 14th, 2011 and is originally from Farmington Hill. After years of hard work and determination, Tilly graduated from the greeter apprenticeship program to a position as an Offical Greeter at Advantage Physical Therapy. Her main job duties include making each patient feel welcome, relaxed and appreciated. She spends her free time hiking, swimming, eating, napping and chasing squirrels.
